“Yoga believes in transforming the individual before transforming the world.” – Sri Swami Satchidananda
I am a huge fan of Yoga and specifically my yoga teacher, Stacy Plaske from Balance Yoga and Healing in Huntington, NY. I do private yoga sessions with her twice per week as well as my own practice at home. I often have tremendous “Aha!” moments while being taught by Stacy. There are many reasons for this, she is conscious, compassionate, intuitive and just an all around cool person. One enjoyable ‘Aha’ I had this week was about ‘Alignment’. I was in a Downward Dog position and it felt like I was doing it perfectly, I could tell I was really working, stretching, using the bondas, I felt aligned…
Stacy came over and fixed my body so I was actually aligned and it felt uncomfortable at first but then it really started to resonate, as I settled into the adjustment I could feel how with my teachers help, I was now more aligned then I felt originally. That is what all good teachers, coaches, and consultants do is come in and see the situation from a global outside perspective. We often can’t see our businesses, our bodies or our lives as they actually are. That’s why it makes so much sense if we are struggling on any level to seek help, to find a teacher, a coach someone who cares, someone whose job it is to help, to be compassionate but also to urge us along to expand our capabilities on any level of life. Well, at least that’s what I am aiming for as a coach, as a teacher, and as a marketing consultant.
I think its important that we as business owners find ways to understand how we can delegate more, seek more help, more support so we are freed up to be what we can really be in our businesses and in life. Remember, you are your business.
