We need to learn to let go as easily as we grasp and we will find our hands full and our minds empty. – Leo F. Buscaglia

This idea of “Letting Go” has really been on my mind lately. The more I practice it the more joy and freedom it brings, the more I contemplate it the more my mind seems to expand through it, the more I feel it the more it gives to me. As Entrepreneurs, we are often holding on to quite a bit, right? Our clients, our employees, our bills, our responsibilities, our invoices, our appointments, our long days, our ups and downs, the highs and the lows….and it just goes on.

There is another way.

The way of “Letting Go”. It starts with the idea, it may sound interesting, or unrealistic, or stupid, or boring or exciting, but regardless, it is just an idea like anything else. However, once we put it into practice we can immediately experience the benefits if we pay attention. Next time you notice some small thing come up in your life or your business, give it a try. It’s really quite simple. Stop everything else you are doing. Put your feet flat on the floor, stand or sit it does not matter. Feel your body, watch your breath for a few moments, and REALLY Let it Go. Emotionally. Lay down your burden, your frustration, your fear, your worry, whatever it is. Don’t worry, if you want to you can always pick it right back up but in my opinion that would be silly. Set it aside for a few minutes while you stay grounded, feel your body and watch your breath, continuing to intend to Let it Go. The truth is, most problems are self-made from start to finish. It’s our holding onto the past around the issue as well as projecting into the future our expectation of what will happen that keeps us in “prison.” The moment we truly Let it Go, we become free. It may only last a few moments but it’s worth it.

Give it a shot, your business and certainly your life just may thank you in more ways than you can guess.

To let go is to release the images and emotions, the grudges and fears, the clingings and disappointments of the past that bind our spirit. – Jack Kornfield

Peace,
